Custom software for small business and founders.
Big companies hire whole teams to build their software. Everyone else runs on spreadsheets, sticky notes, and memory. I build small businesses their own custom software and keep it running.
Watch one come together.
A rough idea of what I build. The numbers in it are made up.
Yours gets built around how you work.Tell me how I can help →
Built for the people running the business.
Owners, tradespeople, agents and shop owners whose tools never quite fit. If your business runs on spreadsheets, a notes app and memory, this is for you.
There's nothing new to learn. You tell me what keeps going wrong, and I build something to fix it.
I build you your own system, around the way you already work.
What I build.
Whatever you need, it fits how you already work.
A clean, fast website that shows up when people search for you and lets them book. You never have to update it.
DashboardsYour whole business on one screen, always up to date.
Custom systemsOne place that runs a part of your business, like leads, jobs or clients, the way you already do it.
AutomationsThe tasks you repeat every day, set up once and handled for you from then on.
I build it, then I look after it.
You explain the problem in your own words. I handle the rest.
You see it working on your own business within a week.
After it's built, I keep it running, improve it, and tell you how it's doing.
While you're on the monthly, I host it and look after it. If you ever want to move on, the buyout price is in your agreement from day one.
I'm small on purpose. I do the work myself, so every client gets my full attention.
Tell me how I can help.
You'll get one straight reply telling you whether I can help. No sales pitch.
What I build.
Four kinds of software, each one made for the person running the business. Here's what each one does and who it helps, with an example. The examples use made-up numbers.
Websites
A clean, fast website that shows up when people search for you and lets them book. I build it and look after it, so there's nothing for you to update.
Dashboards
Your whole business on one screen, always up to date. The numbers that matter are right there, so you don't have to dig for them. If a number is an estimate, it's marked, so you know which ones to trust.
Custom systems
One place that runs a part of your business the way you already work. A lead comes in and it's logged, filed and set for follow-up before you see it.
It runs in the background while you work.
Automations
The tasks that eat your day, done for you. I set them up once and they keep running.
Not sure which one you need?
That's fine. Tell me the problem and I'll tell you which one fixes it, or whether it's a mix. If you'd like to see one running first, I'll show you one live, free, before you decide anything.
How it works.
It starts with a conversation. Here's the whole process, and how little of it is on you.
Five steps.
Most of it is on me. The parts where I need you are marked.
You tell me the problem
Just a conversation, no forms. You tell me what keeps going wrong in your own words.
Your part about twenty minutesI figure out what you need
I look at how you work and find the simplest thing that fixes it. If I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you instead of selling you something.
My part a day or twoI build it
You get back to work. I build it around how you run your business, and you see the first piece within a week.
My part the first weekYou review it
You see it working on your real business and tell me what feels off. I adjust it until it fits.
Your part a quick lookI keep it running
I keep it working, change it as your business changes, and send you a short update every month on how it's doing.
My part every monthWhat it takes from you.
One conversation at the start, some back and forth while I build, and a look when it's ready. Nothing to learn, install or manage. This should give you time back.
What you do
- Tell me the problem
- Take a look when the first piece is ready
- Tell me what feels off so I can fix it
What I do
- Find the simplest thing that fixes it
- Build it around how you already work
- Keep it running and track how it's doing
- Handle all the tech
Who this isn't for.
It's not a fit if you want a tool to run yourself, a large online store with hundreds of products, or something built and then left alone. If I can't help you, I'll tell you before you spend anything.
How long it takes
Most small builds take a few weeks, and you see the first part within a week. Bigger ones take longer. I give you a real timeline once I understand the job, and I tell you early if anything changes.
Why I do this.
My story
I'm Lawton Hinely. I started building systems for my own work, and they worked really well.
So I started asking myself how I could help other people with what I'd learned.
I began with friends and family, helping with their businesses. Now I'd like to help more business owners.
It's just me. You work with me directly from start to finish, and I keep it small so every client gets my full attention.

How pricing works.
No long contract. You can stop the monthly whenever you want. Who owns what is spelled out below, and in your agreement before we start.
One build, then a monthly.
Two parts. First, a one-time build: I give you one price once I understand the job, and you decide before anything starts. Then a monthly that keeps it running and improving, with an honest update on how it's doing.
Every job is different, so I don't quote a number before I've seen it. Builds come in three sizes, small, medium and large, and I'll tell you which yours is after one conversation.
- One build price, quoted up front
- A monthly that keeps it running and improving
- A monthly update on how it's doing
- No card fee on top
Software that's looked after.
Every month I look after it, change it as your business changes, and send you a short update. If a number moved, you'll see it. If it was a flat month, I'll tell you that too.
I won't promise you a specific result. What I stand behind is the work and an honest measure of it, so you always know whether it's worth it.
I measure results. I don't promise them.
Who owns what.
While you're on the monthly, I host what I build, run it and keep improving it. That covers websites, dashboards and anything else I run for you.
If you want to move on, switch to someone else, or own it outright, you can buy it out. The buyout is a set fee, written into your agreement before we start, so you know it from day one.
If what I build runs on your own computer, it's yours to keep using if you stop. I just stop looking after it.
Your business data is yours either way. I don't hold your passwords.
How you pay
By Zelle. The build is paid up front. The monthly is a repeating Zelle payment from your own bank, which we set up together, and you can change or stop it anytime. The price you're quoted is the price you pay, with no card fee on top.
Questions, answered.
What owners usually ask before reaching out.
Common questions
No. You tell me the problem in your own words and I handle the rest.
You see the first working piece within a week, built on your own business. Bigger builds keep growing from there.
One build price, quoted once I understand the job, plus a monthly to keep it running and improving. Every job is different, so every price is too. The pricing page explains how it works.
I measure it and tell you straight. If it isn't helping, I'll say so. I'd rather lose the work than bill you for something that isn't worth it.
Your business data is always yours. I never hold your passwords, and I never use one client's information for another.
The build is paid up front, and the monthly is a repeating Zelle payment from your own bank. The invoice shows exactly what you agreed to.
That's what the monthly is for. As your business changes, I change what I built to match.
The monthly is month to month, and the build isn't refunded once it's started. If I host it, like a website or a dashboard, it stays with me unless you buy it out for the set fee in your agreement. If it runs on your own computer, you keep using it and I stop looking after it. Your data is yours either way.
It tells you when it's estimating. If something's off, tell me and I'll fix it.
Yes. I'll show you one running, live, for about 45 minutes. No charge and no pitch.
Tell me how I can help.
A few quick questions. You'll get one straight reply within two business days telling you whether I can help. If I can, we talk for about twenty minutes and you get one price before anything starts.

Privacy.
A simple, straight note about what happens to what you send me. LWH Systems is Lawton Hinely, based in Columbus, Ohio.
How I handle your information
Who I am. This site is run by Lawton Hinely, doing business as LWH Systems, in Columbus, Ohio, in the United States. You can reach me any time at lawtonhinely@gmail.com.
What you send me through the form
When you fill out the contact form, I collect what you type: your name, your business, the problem you describe, and the email or phone you give me to reply with. Your note is delivered to my email through Resend, an email delivery service, so I can read it and get back to you. If sending ever fails, the page hands you your own note to copy or email directly, so nothing gets lost.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool from Vercel, the company that hosts this site. It counts pageviews and basic, anonymous information about a visit (which pages are viewed, the site you came from, and general device type and country) so I can see how many people visit and what they look at. It does not use cookies, it does not follow you across other websites, and it does not build a personal profile of you. I do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any cross-site tracking, and there are no advertising or tracking cookies.
The site stores nothing in your browser that identifies you. The only two things it keeps are switches you set yourself: whether you have paused the site's motion (kept in local storage so it stays off), and whether you have already seen the opening animation this visit (kept for the session). Neither one is used to identify or track you, and neither leaves your device.
Why I collect it
The form data is used to reply to you and, if we work together, to do that work. The analytics data is aggregate and anonymous, used only to understand overall traffic. That is all.
Who else is involved
I do not sell, rent, or trade your information. The outside services that touch it are my email provider, which receives your note so I can read it and reply, and Vercel, which hosts this site and provides the privacy-friendly analytics described above. I never reuse one person's information for another client's work.
How long I keep it
I keep what you send me while we might work together and for a reasonable time after. If you would like me to delete what you sent, email me and I will remove it.
Your choices
You can browse without filling out the form. The analytics are cookieless and anonymous, so there is no tracking cookie to opt out of; the two motion switches above are the only things kept in your browser, and you can clear them any time and the site still works. To have your form information removed, email lawtonhinely@gmail.com.

Who you are dealing with: LWH Systems, which is Lawton Hinely, in Columbus, Ohio. A quick, straight note on what this site is and is not.
What this site is and is not
Who you are dealing with. This site is run by Lawton Hinely, doing business as LWH Systems, in Columbus, Ohio. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
This site is here to inform
Everything here describes what I do and how I work. It is written to be plain and true, and I keep it current, but it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. It is not a contract, and nothing on it commits you to anything.
Sending the form is an inquiry, not a deal
When you send the form, you are starting a conversation. You are not hiring me and you are not paying anything. Any actual work, price and terms get agreed between us in a separate written agreement first, before anything begins. That agreement, not this site, governs any work I do for you.
What I stand behind
I do not guarantee a specific result, and I will never pretend to. What I stand behind is the work itself: that I build what we agree on, keep it running, and tell you how it is actually doing. The examples and figures shown on this site are illustrative and made up, not real client data or a promise of what you will get.
Who owns what, and my content
What I host for you, like a website or a dashboard, stays mine while you are on the monthly. You can buy it out for the set fee written into your agreement. Anything I build that runs on your own computer is yours to keep using, even if you stop. Your business data is always yours. The words, design and logo on this site are mine, so please do not copy or reuse them without asking.
Limits
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss that comes from using this site itself, such as relying on general information here before we have a written agreement. Nothing here limits anything that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and governing law
I may update these terms, and I will change the date below when I do. These terms and any dispute about this site are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, in the United States, and belong in the courts serving Franklin County, Ohio.
